A KILLARNEY band will have festival fans throughout Kerry tapping their feet and clapping their hands when it performs at several high-profile events in the coming weeks.
The Gleneagle Concert Band has been booked for a number of public performances at which bumper crowds are expected and their schedule will include appearances at the 4th of July Festival in Killarney, Puck Fair and the Rose of Tralee. The band has already performed at the Tralee Garden Festival.
“The 4th of July Festival will certainly be a highlight for us as we will be joined by our good friends in the Blarney Brass and Reed Band,” said conductor Vincent Condon.
“This performance will take place on Main Street and we encourage everyone to come along to hear how fantastic the big band sound really is.”
The band will also perform two other evening performances on Main Street in Killarney on July 8 and 22.
The Gleneagle School of Music and Concert Band are currently recruiting new members for September.
Children, aged nine and upwards, are invited to join and there are a limited number of instruments available, free of charge, on a first come-first served basis.
Established in 1981, the Gleneagle School of Music is renowned for excellence and provides a first class, comprehensive and complete music education programme.
The choices on offer included one-to-one instrumental lessons, theory classes and various ensemble groups.
Adults with previous musical experience and former band members are also welcome to join the senior Gleneagle Concert Band.
